2017 NFL Draft: Just Another Mock Draft

So mock drafts are like assholes, apparently: everyone has one. So why not me?

It seems that these things go either one of two ways: the drafter picks players based on who he thinks the team should draft; or the drafter picks players based on who he thinks the team will draft.

So before you crucify me for my picks here, you need to know just how I arrived at them. I used Pro Football Focus’s latest ranking of draft prospects. I also used the team needs I posted a few days ago. I picked my first round solely based on these needs- if the cell wasn’t at least shaded pink, I wasn’t looking in that direction. The only pick I didn’t analyze was Myles Garrett to Cleveland first overall because everyone says it should be a damn near certainty.

These picks were also determined in a world where you didn’t have to worry about teams trading to steal your pick and did not take into account how far away a team’s next draft pick was. This is simply so-and-so it picking here and they need this, this, this, and that. I also didn’t reach very far. For instance, if your team’s biggest positional need was a C and they were picking 5th, I didn’t draft the 57th overall player (random number) just to have a center in that slot.

So here it is, don’t judge me:
