Some Saints fans are apparently suing the NFL for the trauma created by the non-pass-interference call last Sunday, which probably cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl.
Let me get this straight: a fan’s voluntary participation in a spectator activity can be a source of liability for the participants of said spectator activity?
Well, hell, why not sue every TV or movie studio for every time you’ve been disappointed in the product you’ve paid money to view?
Or maybe sue restaurants for poorly prepared meals?
Grocery store out of your favorite item? Sue.
How many more ridiculous examples can I come up with? Maybe suing PornHub every time you don’t….nevermind.
Look, being a Bears fan who had his team’s own season ending on a heartbreaking play- I get it. I also will join with anyone who says that non-call was absolutely unacceptable and unforgivable given the stakes. But suing is a bridge too far, for me.
Buck up, Big Easy Buttercups. I know it hurts, but you’ll be alright as long as that window doesn’t close too fast.
